zh_TW
Mold flow analysis is a type of finite element analysis, and is commonly used in plastic injection molding industry. As the requirement for product quality is increased, so is the requirement for the precision of mold flow analysis. Thin-shell plastic parts exist in many products and are frequently manufactured by injection molding. Tetrahedral meshes are currently used for thin-shell parts that contain many protrusions and other more complex support structures. But this type of meshes usually results in poor quality in simulation. When protrusion features and thin-shell are separated from a thin-shell part, it could be easy to generate structured type of meshes (hexahedron and prism) manually. However, building up structured type of meshes is very time consuming. This study is aimed at the development of an automatic mesh generation method for the thin-shell of a thin-shell part. We investigate how to build structured meshes for a thin-shell, and applys Moldex3D Mesh module to develop the program for automatic mesh generation of hexahedral and prismatic meshes for a thin-shell. In this method, the topological, geometric and feature identification information is first recorded. The data and correlated information of solid meshes used for each region of the thin-shell is then evaluated. Finally, an algorithm high-quality structured meshes generation for the thin-shell is developed. The results of this study can be used to develop a more complete method for structured-type mesh generation of thin-shell parts by combining the meshing of protrusion features.en_US
