dc.description.abstract | In Wei-Jin dynasties, writers are good at expressing writing meanings with vivid and detailed concrete descriptions, including people, objects, and scenes. This common phenomenon of Wei-Jin Fu literature, is called ‘’Visualizing-Writing Pattern’’ in this thesis.
‘’Visualizing-Writing Pattern’’ is a literary form to display concrete pictures via words. The content of Fu is not only describe objective existence, buy also subjective imagination. The reason of using ‘’Visualizing-Writing Pattern’’ aims to break though the limit of abstract language on conceptual reference, fitting authors’ indescribable opinions better.
The embryonic form of ‘’Visualizing-Writing Pattern’’ was starting in Pre-Chin era. However, most of the researchers are using the traditional viewpoint instead of developing a comprehensive and systematic proposition. As a result, this thesis will go through the internal evolution process of Chinese literary history from Pre-Chin era to Jian-an era, Additionally, it will analyze the influence of Wang-Bi ’’ li siang jin yi’’ (立象盡意)theory and Figures Evaluation culture to better prove the maturity of the “Visualizung-Writing Patten” in Wei-Jin dynasties.
This thesis will classify ‘’Visualizing-Writing Pattern’’ to three types: point type, line type, plane type, to analyze the different skill between emotional and logical texts.
In summary, with the literary form of “Visualizing-Writing Pattern’’, the inference problem (the gap between words and meaning) that has plagued Chinese writers for a long time finally has a solution, which has also caused the “ciao gou sing sih”(巧構形似) fashion of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. | en_US |
