dc.description.abstract | The Network industry originates from the era of personal computers and workstations in the 1980s, and then evolved to the Internet era in 1995. As of today, the 21st century, the development of Network industry has driven to a maturity stage, with the rapid development of intelligent technology, such as 5G technology and Internet of Things (IoT), the relative demand has increased substantially as well. In addition, the global Network industry has become more competitive due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and the U.S.-China trade war.
The development of Taiwan Network industry has to throwback to the 1990s, the international renowned Network companies’ era, the Network companies from European, Japan, the United States fully provided the OEM opportunities then. Until today, not only the OEM, Taiwan Network industry has already developed several supply chains which combined design and manufacture, and makes Taiwan occupies a niche in global Netcom industry. The Netcom equipment consists of microprocessor, network IC chip, radio frequency IC Chip, active and passive components, thermal sink, antennas, memory, printed circuit boards, plastic and metal casing, and network wires, etc.; different components have the corresponding suppliers. In order to fulfill the demand of the Network market for these equipments, supplier selection plays an important role in the Network supply chain, so that it is able to meet the expectation of quality, cost and delivery. Therefore, the manufacturer can stand out in the competitive industrial environment in case they establish a comprehensive supplier selection mechanism.
The thesis uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process method to evaluate the weight of each criteria of the “supplier selection” for the Network industry. Summarizing the selection criteria by sorting the appropriate criteria through the relevant literatures and seek for the opinions from experts, as the basis of constructing the “supplier selection” issue for Network industry in the future. | en_US |
