zh_TW
Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901), 19th-century Italian opera composer. Most of his 26 works are opera seria. He composed commedia lirica “Falstaff” in his late years because of continuous encouragement from his pal composer Boito. “Falstaff” not only created a new style of opera for Verdi but also drew a perfect ending for his opera-composing career. First of all, the essay describes elaborately on Verdi’’s opera style. It discusses the creation of "Ftalstaff",the process of performing and three different versions performed in various areas. Furthermore, the author finds out how Verdi uses different music sources and materials to make the whole opera more coherent through methods of music analysis. In addition, the author compares "Ftalstaff" with Rossini’’s "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" by categories, and then induces the characters and innovations of it. en_US
