dc.description.abstract | This article is to explore the development of mountaineering activities of post-war Taiwan. According to this study, the main types of mountain climbing activities were on political and economic considerations, during from the Netherlands reign, the Ming-Cheng Dynasty to the early era of Japanese colony. It was not until the establishment of "The Alpine Club of Taiwan" that recreational climbing gradually became flourished, however, after the outbreak of the Second World War, mountain activities in Taiwan declined again.
It went to the early postwar period, although various kinds of "Control Act of Mountain" regulations ,which hampered the mountaineering activities in post-war Taiwan were made by Government, but it indirectly supporting the development of mountaineering activities in the post-war Taiwan because of the development of forestry, the road construction ,the tourist industry and the national park completes. It the reasons for flourishing about mountaineering activities in the post-war Taiwan .
The mountaineering-groups were also actively promoting its own climbing activities in addition, it’s including : people who board the three major mountain at first in the post-war Taiwan , were not being only re-opening mountain climbing of the Taiwan, but the footprint was also over around the mountains of Taiwan; Secondly, the journals of two major organizations enriched the mountain safety, mountaineering activities and the knowledge of mountaineering in the post-war Taiwan; then, the mountaineering activities were becoming colorful by the people of mountaineering- groups who contributed for the mountaineering activity at last.
After the impact of changes in the external environment and the mountaineer groups promote and enrich the mountaineering activities, making the mountaineering activities in post-war Taiwan from the early turn of the process of gradually flourished, and in the process arising from the characteristics and the research will continue to develop, all about that were the results of this study.
