dc.description.abstract | Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) comprise the main support behind Taiwan economy. The company want to maintain competence of the company in the market, staff’s information literacy is the main key, As the knowledge heritage of companies lies solely on staff, the future organization is expected to focus more on information literacy and knowledge heritage of her staff.Therefore, evaluation and discussion of the level of information literacy of staff pose great impact on the future of SMEs. The main objective of this research focuses on evaluating and weighting of factors influencing information literacy, designing of information literacy evaluation form, and probing of the influence of personal background on information literacy and learning style of staff.
The research adopts content analytic method to encode the literal text, and realizes six factors influencing information literacy, namely, ‘common information ability’, ‘cognition and search information ability’, ‘ability to evaluate and analyze information’, ‘ability to integrate and apply information’, ‘source probing and problem solving ability’, and ‘use of information ethics and attitudes’. The research later adopts Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to appraise the weight of each factor, followed by analyzing results from interviews with experts, which consequent the design of information literacy evaluation form.
The research uses Expert Choice 2000 to analyze the received survey forms. Results of the analysis show that ‘source probing and problem solving ability’ occupies the largest ratio of 28%, revealing the importance of such ability. Through the analysis and compilation of relative weight of each factor, the research concludes with a compact, objective and quantitative measuring scale for appraising information literacy of staff from SMEs.
Through SPSS 12.0 analysis of the received forms, the followings are discovered:
1.Factors under personal background which possess significant influence on information literacy are, gender, level of education, institution and salary.
2.Factor under personal background which possesses significant influence on learning style is institution.
To sum up, in order to improve ‘problem solving ability’, blended Problem-Based Learning Model could be adopted, raising suitable learning models according to corresponding learning styles: Accommodator is suitable for team learning, in-group discussion platform and blog learning platform: Diverger is suitable for individual competition, guided online course, blog learning platform and Vodcast learning tool: Converger is suitable for competition, experts’ forum, scenario guidance and in-group discussion platform: Assimilator is suitable for learning through Vodcast and Podcast learning tool. | en_US |
