dc.description.abstract | Along with the industry’s dramatic changing, to reduce production costs and increase profits, the panel manufacturers must rapidly apply the successful experience to the new plant, develop M&A plans, and vertically integrate the supply chain to meet the external environment challenges for enterprises. The case study department is the Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) department of the panel manufacturer, to meet the corporate policies and department organizational goals; it introduced the CMMI model to improve the process, and successfully received the CMMI Level 3 certification within 12 months. The study explores the related issues of the case study department introducing the CMMI model by applying the case study method and the data was collected through secondary data analysis and interview of experts. The purpose of the study is divided into three items: 1. The operation process, organizational structure and internal resource allocation of introducing the CMMI model to the case study department 2. The difficulties and challenges encountered by introducing the CMMI model to the case study department, and how the organization corresponded and set up a complete management mechanism 3. Summarize the key successful factor of introducing the CMMI model to the case study company. After integrating the case study practical analysis and literature exploration, the key successful factors of the case study company summarized by the study are: 1. The full input of the organization members; 2. The support of high rank managers; 3. The establishment of the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS). At the same time, the study has concluded three points: 1. A high permeability messaging and communication channel; 2. Personnel quality; 3. Continuous process improvement. Finally, the study proposed recommendations for the case study department from an objective perspective: 1. Give sufficient preparation time for formal evaluation; 2. Adjust the process according to different types of projects; 3. Seed personnel training. The recommendation for an organization which wishes to introduce CMMI: 1. The benefits of applying IDEAL Model; 2. The importance of a counselor. The recommendation for future research direction is to process quantitative study on the case study department, and analyze the long-term overall effect impact of introducing CMMI to the organization. It is expected to provide the information as a reference for companies or units which wish to introduce CMMI Level 3 through the in-depth study of the case study department.
