dc.description.abstract | The researcher adopted the method of narrative inquiry in this research paper, describing the instructor, Chao-liang Shen, the photographer’s personal experiences of image creating and his teaching story as stationed artist in NCU. As the observer, the researcher has listened Professor Chao-liang Shen’s long-term project of photography and has realized different stories behind images through photos. Being in the classroom, the researcher has experienced the real teaching examples via joining and observing during one year of photography course. By having interviews with students, the researcher is aware of how students return to their own self-realization to train their own thoughts, process, resolution and correction; and at the same time interpret creative themes in the point of view of self-imaginary.
On the process of narrating, the teacher and students in the photography class make the researcher realize that teachers are more than teachers, they are also instructors. They realize their image and creativity in mind via the lens. Through their presentations,I have gradually understood that photography is more than a skill, it is a media to make people see more, think more. The stories are like a mirror because I review and reconsider self learning experiences by listening and interpretting their stories, refreshing original thoughts and absorb new knowledge and wisdom that are needed in mature life.
