The purpose of this thesis is to explore precious research show that the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index (TAIEX) induced acute heart attacks. Related study, the ups and downs of the TAIEX has a significant positive impact on the people stroke incidence, and cardiovascular disease has been sustained in second or third position of Taiwan people ten leading causes of death for many years and also it is the greatest impact of serious diseases other than cancer. Cardiovascular disease has many related causes, so this study in acute myocardial infarction(AMI) to be research issues to verify TAIEX change induced acute heart disease. The database of this study is during 1998 to 2007. In addition to adapt above related studies which are empirical methods and variables, we add temperature, the mail factor in medically induced AMI, to understand the importance of changes in the TAIEX in AMI induced factors. For demanding a rigorous study I increase database searching more than 10 years, covering Taiwan’s stock market short period and long period, in order to verify the different stock price performance period, of acute the effect of myocardial infarction.
In this paper, we establish the panel data of the county’s daily AMI and county’s daily temperature and TAIEX. Empirical research methods we use the model for panel date to regression analysis and then also used fixed effect model to control for heterogeneity of different counties. The empirical results show that, originally expected the variables - TAIEX of to explain AMI induced effect is not significant. But temperature factors and aging of population for the time trend are more significant to AMI. While the TAIEX are only marginal effects, is not sufficient to fully explain the induced main cause of AMI. Therefore, the predisposing factors for AMI, should be the temperature factors as the main factor.
