To transform the campus into one public space with community characteristics by accelerating the implementation of reform project for the campus works and to create a progressive, safe, sanitation, healthy and humane learning environment in accordance with “the promoting project for sustainable campus and planning”, a project proposed by the Ministry of Education, by designing a green, sustainable development environment, has always been an important issue for school construction.
In this thesis, by studying the full life-cycle public construction of campus construction projects (Including feasibility studies, planning, designing, contracting, construction, the management of operation and maintenance) , accomplishing the eight indices declared by sustainable design and planning of energy conservation and carbon reduction, schools will reduce the investment of resources and costs in follow-up maintenance. Therefore, sustainable development, green environment and carbon reduction will be considered as these aims have been converged into the goal of campus construction.
A case study of partial renovation project for the performing arts center at National Taiwan University of Arts is discussed in this thesis. By three measures, the study of the full life cycle, the use of the concept of energy saving and carbon reduction in planning and design, and the analysis of energy conservation efficiency, this project is able to reach the aim of sustainable development of green campus. This project not only has created a green campus with healthy, safety, environmental protection, energy saving environment, but also it is able to provide a good reference of school works for which desired to build a sustainable campus.
