dc.description.abstract | In recent years, the global appetite for energy is growing rapidly, which leads to environmental and social problems such as the lack of energy, climate change, ecological damage and wide gap between the rich and the poor. Those problems have a major impact on human survival. Therefore, it is necessary to know how to utilize the innovative approaches well while developing economic and at the same time to ensure the human survival and the sustainable development of earth. Yet, that has become an influential subject. In response of those problems, the Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) has grown tremendously. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) is the first social investment index in the world. From an investment point of view, it is an important index to measure the company’s performance for sustainable development. The extent of evaluation questionnaire is deep and broad. The section “Supply Chain Management” in the DJSI questionnaire is used as the direction of this study. The criteria belong to the economic issues of DJSI and have an impact on industrial expansion. If those issues can be integrated into company’s core value, not only can the company’s competitiveness be enhanced, but also the environmental and social problems can be solved.
First of all, this study started with discussing the purpose and content of the supply chain management questionnaire. The best cases studies were selected on the basis of the public information of benchmark companies for further analysis and study. The study includes the DJSI supply chain questionnaire and the system framework created by the professionals from the EcoVadis and SAM, the guideline of the supply chain sustainability and online assessment tools published by Hitachi participating UN Global Compact, the Schneider’s supply chain management, the risk identification by TSMC, and the BOMCheck led by Siemens and several global manufacturers. It is expected to help the industries to integrate with the international market and improve the industrial competitiveness by this benchmarking study and discussing the successful models. Also, by discussing the case studies of sustainable supply chain and suppliers’ collaboration, the environmental and social performances can be improved to create a win-win situation while developing economic. | en_US |
