dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of this study was to explore the effects on writing’s ability and attitude for second-grade students through a combination of management game and writing process which was meant “My Weekly.” This was done firstly through the design and implementation of a writing system that could be used by students to study through management publishing house. In the writing system, four writing’s activities are designed which includes “Interview”, “Edit”, “Publish” and “Marketing.” Furthermore, this study was conducted students to additionally investigate the practicality of writing system, the influence of writing system on second-grade students’ writing ability, writing attitude, and their options. Changes in the performance of students learning by the system were analyzed through one-on-one interviews.
An experiment was conducted in elementary school for 53 second-grade students from two classes during 8 weeks in order to understand the influence of students’ writing. Students participated in fourteen rounds of writing activity; the process consists of different topic writing, publishing, marketing, ordering, and browsing session. The experiment employed a mixed approach for data collection and analysis that contains writing ability tests, writing attitude questionnaire, interviews, and experiment record table. The findings indicated that 1) both of the writing idea generation and finalized generation progressively increased on students’ performance; 2) the length of writing gradually increased, “My Weekly” can effectively help student write more words and long sentences; 3) After using system, students can express more clear meaning in writing; 4) students held more positive attitudes towards writing through “My Weekly,” especially “Writing Motivation” changes in evidence.
