摘要(英) As a result of the rapid development of technology, organizations are facing a more competitive environment and serious global competition without boundary limitations. Organizations attempt to find way to improve the flexibility and responsiveness to compete with other organizations. In order to achieve this goal, organizations use inter-organizational system (IOS) as a powerful tool to link with trading partners in supply chains. Prior studies indicate that organizations can gain significant benefits through using inter-organizational system (IOS) to collaborate with their partners. However, because the implementation of IOS will involve multiple organizations, many inter-organizational incompatible problems have to be addressed to realize the full potential of IOS.
This study addressed the inter-organizational compatibility in technical, cultural and process dimensions. Apart from the inter-organizational compatibility perspective, we use power imbalance as the moderating variable to analyze whether power imbalance will influence the relationship between inter-organizational compatibility and IOS integration. Through a survey of questionnaires in Top 1000 manufacturing firms in Taiwan, we examined whether inter-organizational compatibilities are positively associated with IOS integration, and whether the power imbalance weaken the moderating effect of the relationship between inter-organizational compatibility and IOS integration. The results demonstrate that technical compatibility and cultural compatibility are positively associated with IOS integration and power imbalance fail to moderate the relationship between inter-organizational compatibility and IOS integration.
