Under the existing system of national road authorities in Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau, freeway pavement need to be conducted a series of inspections operations for each section after the road is completed. Therefore, how to improve the efficiency of freeway inspected operation and the maintenance and rehabilitation procedure of pavement surface condition is a real important issue.
To analyze and find a efficient freeway pavement maintenance system, this study conducts a series of test and detection and executes pavement structure analysis in order to provide Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau related proposals of planning maintenance and rehabilitation procedures, and then achieves the goal of improvement of maintenance system.
Due to the effect of environment, traffic and climate, national freeway pavement has some destructive conditions after it has completed. Moreover, national freeway has gradually arrived the stage of maintenance and rehabilitation, and so the maintenance and rehabilitation of the national freeway pavement becomes a most important mission for Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau.
Emergency repaired road can be based on the type of pavement damage, according to highway maintenance manual to conduct a emergemcy repair. Non-emergency repaired road also can use ground-penetrating radar and falling weight deflectometer to conduct subsequent analysis in order to find out the reason of damage ,and then provides some related suggestions.
This study uses BAKFAA and Elmod to conduct deflection analysis of ten sections of usually repaired freeway pavements, and then uses GPR and FWD’s data to proceed subsequent analysis and uses Guanxi, Dounan, and Shinging district as examples to proceed project analysis, and then import the related data of detections and tests to Taiwan Pavement Management System to provide engineers to use. Finally, privode some related conclusions and suggestions of deflection analysis, project analysis, and deflection system.
