摘要(中) 全球首富Bill Gates 曾言:「下一個世界富豪必將出自生物科技界。」值此
新興產業萌生之際,許多善於尋找機會的創業家,早已在全球掀起一股創業熱
潮,紛紛投入此前緣線領域開創新局。
然而,由於生物技術產業尚屬萌生階段,許多顛覆既往的商業構想或是營運
模式仍待確立,值此之際,創業家究竟是如何在此種混沌複雜環境中,逐漸精粹
出獨到的經營洞見?本研究認為,此種歷程可視為一意會活動(Sensemaking),
係透過建構身份、源自回顧、營造環境、社會互動、現行性、萃取線索與或許性
等七項特質,來為所尋找的機會開創價值。
此外,創業家所進行的意會活動,是否真能為機會開創價值?實質選擇權
(Real option)相關理論的發展,適時地為這樣的疑惑提出一個思考方向。該
觀點主要是認為創業家為機會所開創的價值,係來自於對現有資產的使用,再加
上對未來投資機會選擇的權利,而此種思考亦為傳統資本預算方法無法評價環境
充滿不確定性的限制做出解答。
綜上所述,本研究所欲觀察的是,新創事業的創業家如何在混沌的生技產業
中進行意會活動,並進而利用意會策略影響實質選擇權價值。為此,本研究針對
我國生技產業的六大範疇,透過田野實地訪談,建立25 個個案文本,並分三大
部分進行分析探討。
首先,本研究透過個案文本的初步分析,針對意會活動的7 大特質,歸納整
理出38 個子構念,176 個次分類類別。接著,再依據紮根案例,發展出一系列
有關意會活動驅動實質選擇權價值的相關準命題。最後,為了有效評估創業家所
提出的各類營運模式版本,亦建立一分析架構,以供進行客觀評斷。
