摘要(中)

近年來肥胖人口在全球各個國家都有日益增加的趨勢，包括歐洲、美國、紐西蘭等國，台灣地區也不例外。有些國家肥胖人數更佔全國人口的三分之一以上，隨著西風東漸，國人的飲食習慣日漸西化，體重過重或肥胖的比率也日益增多。雖然過去幾十年來，學者對肥胖的成因有更近一步的了解，而國人肥胖的發生率仍是有增無減。而體重過重或肥胖對健康的影響是眾所皆知的，在衛生署公布的國人十大死亡原因中，超過一半以上的疾病都與過重或肥胖有關。不少資料顯示成人肥胖與肥胖相關疾病，如糖尿病、心血管疾病等的死亡率和罹病率有正的相關。更何況青少年肥胖是成人肥胖的危險因子之一。青少年肥胖比非肥胖者更容易發展為成人肥胖，所以最好避免青少年肥胖的發生。針對青少年的肥胖問題來說，預防比治療更重要。
為了有效遏止青少年肥胖比例的持續升高，本研究主要針對青少年探討其健康知識對其自身健康的影響。研究的實證資料來源為民國八十二年至八十五年之『第一次國民營養健康狀況變遷調查』。我們以青少年的體重分布：「過瘦」、「正常」、「過重與肥胖」作為青少年的健康指標，其中以青少年的身體質量指數(BMI)作為體重的衡量標準。研究中採用Multinomial logit model實證分析青少年健康知識對其健康的影響。研究結果顯示青少年健康知識對其健康的影響並不顯著，這可能是因為肥胖對青少年健康的影響並非是顯而立見的，導致青少年忽視了肥胖對健康所造成的威脅，這也代表健康知識更須加以宣導的重要性。然而除了青少年的健康知識外，吾人更進一步考慮父母的健康知識對其子女健康的影響，其結果顯示父母的健康知識與子女成為過瘦的可能性有顯著的相關，這說明了健康知識與健康之間是有關聯性的，也同樣呼應健康知識宣導的重要性。
