摘要(英) Effective supply chain integration becomes increasingly important since successful management of supply chain is the key to the competitive advantages of an organization. Previous studies showed that institutional pressures can shape how firms behave. However, few studies have been conducted to identify possible factors driving information technology (IT) infrastructure integration and supply chain process integration based on an institutional perspective. Besides, whether supplier performance can be improved by both kinds of integration has rarely been investigated. Therefore, the purpose of this study are twofold: the first is to explore how institutional pressures influence IT infrastructure integration and supply chain process integration, and the other is whether such integration can enhance supplier performance in supply chains.
This study was conducted with data collected from manufacturing firms in Taiwan. The research findings showed that: (1) coercive pressures are positively associated with IT infrastructure integration for SCM and with supply chain process integration; (2) normative pressures are positively associated with IT infrastructure integration for SCM and with supply chain process integration; (3) IT infrastructure integration for SCM significantly influences supply chain process integration; (4) supply chain process integration significantly influences supplier performance.
