作品集(Portfolios)評量方式不僅僅是可以用在學習成果評量上，隨著網路學習的日漸普及，更可以藉由建構在網頁上的方式，來增加老師與學生之間的互動，另外，案例式學習(Case-Based Learning)在醫學、法律上已被廣泛的使用，而程式設計的學習過程中，以程式範例為主的學習也可以是一種案例式學習。大多的網路學習系統並未具有學生模組(Student Model)，這樣的網路學習環境，並不容易幫助教師掌握學生學習狀態與行為，缺乏學生模組的網路學習環境難以適時的提供針對學生個人適性化的(Adaptive)學習輔助。
本論文建構一個案例式的學習歷程評量系統，讓學生在透過在案例取得模組中的分析、設計、實作、結果，四階段程式寫作流程完成繳交程式作業的同時，也能把自己的解題經驗分享出來，讓其他的同學可以觀摩、學習，而這些解題學習的動作會由案例知識取得模組將這部分資訊轉化成學生模組，老師可以藉此了解學生的狀態，並根據這些資訊透過案例推薦模組來給予學生適當的幫助。
我們將系統開放給中央資工系的大一計算機概論課程，課程內容是Java程式語言，共52位資工系大一、大二學生使用，按照程式寫作流程所繳交的作業，每個作業的觀看人數從1.25人次提高到5.05人次，單一觀看者觀看案例個數也從原來的0.899個案例提升到4.96個案例，在以問卷詢問學生關於系統上的使用意見後，有七成的學生覺得以本系統的方式在對於學習經驗的分享上是有幫助的，且這樣的寫作方式可以讓學生更清楚的知道題目的問題在哪。但由於學生的寫作情況不佳，因此對於系統設計的介面上也有著改進的空間，在經過與學生們的訪談後，有了初步的改進方向。在收集學生分析與綜合能力的部分，我們藉由一次特別設計的考試測驗來取得學生的分析與綜合的程度，與我們先前收集到的資料作相關性分析後都呈現顯著的正相關，因此證實此系統能有效的評量學生分析與綜合的能力。
