Abstract:
摘要: A summary of both the workshop presentations and recommendations is provided with an update of the outstanding issues and potentially new applications that can be explored using COSMIC-2 data. Since its launch in 2006, Taiwan's Formosa Satellite Mission 3-Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate (FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC) has provided more than 3.2 million global positioning system (GPS) radio occultation (RO) soundings (~1500-2500 soundings per day) to support research and operational numerical weather prediction (NWP). The Abel inverted electron density can contain significant errors due to the spherical symmetry assumption in areas of large horizontal inhomogeneity, especially in the low- latitude and low-altitude regions. Since the raw slant TEC can be difficult to use directly for the scientific studies, it is still worthwhile to improve electron den- sity retrievals. 出版者: Boston: American Meteorological Society 出版日期: 2014-01-01 出處: Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, 2014-01, Vol.95 (1), p.18-22 資源來源: EBSCOhost OmniFile Full Text Select 版權: 2014 American Meteorological Society 版權: Copyright American Meteorological Society Jan 2014 識別號: ISSN: 0003-0007 識別號: ISSN: 1520-0477 識別號: EISSN: 1520-0477 識別號: DOI: 10.1175/BAMS-D-13-00035.1 識別號: CODEN: BAMIAT
