A two-stage method for the preparation of Eu2+-doped Ca3SiO4Cl2 is reported. It was observed that the emission intensity is significantly enhanced up to 30% by the two-stage method. The critical concentration of Eu2+ was found to be 0.01 mol % and the critical radius was similar to 31.9 angstrom. The broad excitation band and strong emission indicate that the Ca(3)SiO4(C)l(2): Eu2+ phosphor could be a good green-phosphor candidate for creating white light in phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
