    摘要: 2007年,繼Amazon推出Kindle電子書閱讀器大受好評後,電子顯示器市場,似乎又邁入另一個高峰。由於電子書閱讀器的帶動,自2008年來,電子紙應用市場也跟著快速成長;加上電子紙因具有輕薄、低耗電、可撓性等特性,目前被公認為是未來平面顯示器市場取代紙張及需大量資料內容之替代性產品。根據DisplaySearch研究表示,電子紙顯示器模組的數量成長將由2009年的2千萬片成長到2015年的8億片,電子紙顯示器模組產值將由2009年的4億美元成長到2015年的60億美元;並將在2018年接近百億美元。 電子紙雖然具備許多令人驚豔的功能(目前電子紙已被應用於電子書閱讀器、標籤、公共廣告看板、智慧卡、手機螢幕、衣服上的顯示設備等),但以目前電子紙技術在全彩化、可撓式、刷新速度、成本控制及量產等方面的技術瓶頸看來,要取代傳統紙製品甚至要超越TFT-LCD等顯示技術優勢仍有一段距離。 研究機構DisplayBank資料顯示,2009年電子紙應用領域,以電子書閱讀器佔55%及行動螢幕/公用看板佔26%二者比例最高,預估至2018年電子書閱讀器比例仍佔電子紙應用領域之首,但行動螢幕/公用看板領域將會成長1.5個百分比,並逐步朝醫療及可攜式裝置發展。綜觀目前隨著文字內容產業數位化的發展趨勢,電子紙產業的發展與 關鍵成功因素,自是當前時空背景下相當值得研究之課題。 基於上述背景,本研究欲透過五力分析、價值網分析模型以及創新擴散理論為基礎,並採用質性研究中的個案分析法,進行次級資料分析及人物訪談,主要內容為「電子紙產業的關鍵成功因素」及「未來應用發展商機」等議題。透過分析結果,盼能得知電子紙的未來應用及商機潛力並探討電子紙產業的關鍵成功因素,以作為國內發展電子紙的面板廠商之參考。透過分析,本研究發現電子紙產業關鍵成功因素在於技術突破及創造市場,如此一來,電子紙才能多元應用、商機無限。The electronic display market seems to be marching into another peak following Amazon’s release of Kindle e-book reader, which has received many favorable views, in 2007. Owing to the booming of e-book reader, the electronic paper (e-paper) application market has grown rapidly since 2008 and together with light, thin, low-energy consumption, flexible and other features, the e-paper currently is recognized as a cirtical alternative to physical paper and requires a lot of contents to support the flat panel display market in the future. DisplaySearch research estimates that the number of e-paper display modules will grow from 20 million in 2009 to 800 million in 2015. Furthermore, the value of e-paper display modules will grow from US$400 million in 2009 to US$6 billion in 2015 and close to US$10 billion in 2018. Although e-paper has many amazing features and has been currently used in e-book readers, labels, public billboards, smart cards, mobile phone screens, the display of clothes, etc. However, the current technology development of e-paper such as full color, flexible type, refresh rate, cost and technical aspects of production has reached its bottleneck; therefore, there is a long way to go before e-paper can to a great extent replace the traditional paper products and display its full potential. Data from DisplayBank, a research institute, shows that e-book reader (55%) and screen action/public billboards (26%) are the two with the highest percentages of applications of e-paper in 2009. It is estimated that the proportion of e-book reader will still be the highest in the e-paper application field in 2018, but the moveable screen/public billboard will grow 1.5 percent, and will gradually move toward the development of medical and portable devices. Looking at the current trend of text digitalization, analyzing the key success factors of the e-paper industries is a very valuable research topics. For the reasons above, a qualitative case study of the industry is conducted based on the theory of competitive analysis, value network analysis model and the innovation diffusion theory. In line with the case study method of obtaining information, the research uses secondary data and interviews to collect research data. The main issues to be addressed are “key success factors of the e-paper industry,” “business opportunities of future application and development” and other trends and potentials of the technology. By analyzing the data, the researcher gains a better understanding of the future of e-paper applications and business opportunities. In addition, the key success factors of e-paper industry are explored and suggestions are provided to the domestic panel manufacturers. This research found that the key success factors of e-paper industry are the technological breakthroughs required and the effective creation of markets.
