Information commons originates from University Library. It is also called learning commons or learning space due to its learning characteristics. There are three types of information commons, one of which is integrated commons. The integrated commons integrates research, teaching and learning functions with library services. Electronic portfolios (e-portfolio) are platforms for students to record their learning portfolios, and activities which can enhance students’ reflection on learning. Because of the thriving of Web 2.0, users can use web2.0 tools to share their information and knowledge and to communicate with each other. Furthermore, some web2.0 sites also provide recommendation or relation mechanisms for users to find similar documents, articles or people easily. Based on above theories, this research aims to implement integrated commons that belongs to learning commons and investigate readers’ overall satisfaction towards our system. In this study, we propose readers recommendation mechanism based on library records, and then integrate readers recommendation mechanism with e-portfolio service. Learners can record their learning portfolios and share their information or knowledge on e-portfolios provided by our system. Furthermore, learners can use readers recommendation mechanism to find people with similar reading interests, and visit their e-portfolios and reading records as well as discuss some topics about learning, reading, studying or interests with each other. Our experiment shows that system quality, information quality and perceived benefits have significant influences on users’ satisfaction.
