Abstract:	本計畫將以援助交際在台灣的建構過程為研究主題。「援助交際」這個名詞從1996 年就開始從日本被引進台灣，1999 年引起普遍注意，但是其意義卻和今日所瞭解的「援助交際」有別。今日所瞭解的「援助交際」是在2001 年前後才逐漸確定其意義，而其關鍵則是法律開始罪刑化援助交際，因而產生了援助交際的社會排斥過程，透過媒體在論述上的建構而逐漸固定其意義。此計畫將企圖延伸「性的社會建構」到「性工作的社會建構」，而以援助交際這個現象為例。性工作的社會建構論並非討論性工作者是天生或是家庭環境、社會風氣或者教育、文化造成的等等，而是企圖質疑與解構「性工作（者）」這個範疇本身。性工作（者）如何能夠變成一個可以／可能被研究的對象？如何能夠現成地、好端端地供社會科學家去研究、供倫理學家或人們去談論？一言以敝之，性工作的社會建構論要批判地檢視「性工作研究／論述」背後的知識／權力部署，也就是這樣的部署如何將援助交際納入性／別排斥的版圖。各類學術研究與論述（包括媒體的建構）在權力方面形成社會排斥（包括法律的罪刑化），從這個研究進路出發，來研究援助交際在台灣的建構，就是本計畫的旨趣。 This is a research project focusing on the social construction of enjo kosai (compensated dating) in Taiwan. A Japanese term and social phenomenon, enjo kosai was first introduced to Taiwan in 1966 and attracted public attention around 1999. But the term』s meaning remained unstable until 2001 when criminalization of enjo kosai was intensively enforced, and together with media exposure of sensational cases generated the process of social exclusion for enjo kosai. The research program of the social construction of enjo kosai, which is a case of the social construction of sexwork, aims at studying the process of 「making up」 the object (i.e. sexwork or sexworker) available for the academic study, for the social workers, for the police and judges, for the policy makers and politicians, for the vice squad, for the feminists, etc. Therefore, this is a study of the making up of enjo kosai in Taiwan. 研究期間：9611 ~ 9710
