    摘要: 本計劃將合成表面具有不同刷毛聚合物之高分子次微米球,藉由改變表面不同刷毛聚合物來提升次微米球在不同領域上的功能性,像是應用在光子晶體、溫度感應、以及酸鹼感應上之研究。首先利用無乳化劑乳化聚合法製備具耐有機溶劑 (四氫呋喃或甲苯等)之均一粒徑高分子次微米球,接著添加具有溴基的鏈轉移劑來進行表面改質,使次微米球表面帶有溴基,再進行原子轉移自由基聚合反應 (ATRP)合成表面具有不同刷毛聚合物之高分子次微米球。本計劃將探討在不同組成下的交聯單體與反應單體所合成的次微米球對於有機溶劑的抗溶解性,粒徑大小、和均一度等,以及應用在光子晶體上時,粒徑大小對於光子能隙的影響,並探討表面具有聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯刷毛之高分子次微米球的光學性質。利用ATRP的方法還可合成具有熱敏感型與pH敏感型的刷毛聚合物接枝於高分子次微米球的表面,使其具有功能性,當應用在溫度與酸鹼感應之研究時,分別探討在不同溫度下以及不同pH值下其粒徑大小以及粒徑分佈的變化。本計劃將提出相關實驗參數與結果關係,若能以此基礎研究做為後盾,將可大大提升其應用範圍,對於相關材料之進一步研究以及材料開發將有其貢獻,並可作為未來工程設計與應用之參考。 This study investigates the synthesis of monodisperse polymer submicrospheres with polymer brushes at surface. Different kinds of polymer brushes at surface have attracted considerable attention because they have potential applications in various fields such photonic crystal, thermal sensitive materials, and pH sensitive materials. The solvent resistance (tetrahydrofuran or toluene) of polymer submicrospheres with bromine initiator at surface were prepared by soap-free emulsion polymerization. Dense functional brushes (thermal sensitive polymers, and pH sensitive polymers) were created on polymer submicrospheres surfaces by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The effects on the properties (solvent resistance, particle size, and monodispersity) of polymer submicrospheres in the conditions of different monomer compositions, and reaction temperatures are studied. By variation of the particle size, the photonic band gap could be varied throughout the visible spectrum. In addition, the properties on polymer submicrospheres with functional brush at surfaces were characterized by dynamic light scattering, and the brush length could be varied on different temperatures and pH values, respectively. Consequently, this study will be expected to provide useful information for synthesis of monodisperse polymer submicrospheres with polymer brushes at surface and presented for the practical design and application. 研究期間:9908 ~ 10007
