    Abstract: 太陽風與行星大氣層(金星和火星)及磁層((地球、水星、木星、土星等)的作用是宇宙電漿物理的一個重要分支。特殊太陽風結構和磁場條件常常引起行星磁層和離子層的重要擾動。這些行星「太空天氣」效應是本計畫的主題。在這個看來廣泛的課題,我們針對一些關鍵議題做理論模擬或者是一些太空計畫(如卡西尼土星系統計畫和MESSENGER水星計畫)的觀測資料的分析。一方面由此得到對行星磁層進一步的了解,並爭取科學成果,另一方面則是以此訓練年輕一代的太空科學人才。 Solar wind interactions with planetary atmospheres (in the case of Venus and Mars) and magnetospheres (in the case of the Earth, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn) are an important discipline in cosmic plasma physics and astrophysics. Special solar wind structures and magnetic field conditions could lead to dramatic effects in planetary ionospheres and magnetospheres. For planets and satellites with direct surface-plasma interaction , ion sputtering effect could lead to the formation of thin exospheres. The time variability of such exospheres are also controlled by the solar wind conditions. In a wide-ranging issues, we have chosen a number of key problems to be investigated by theoretical modeling and data analysis taking advantage of in-situ measurements from the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan and the MESSENGER mission to Mercury. This research project will allow us to achieve deeper understanding of planetary magnetospheric dynamics and the corresponding space weather effects from Mercury to Saturn. Our problem-solving approach will provide a good training ground for young graduate to become experts in the frontier of planetary science 研究期間:10008 ~ 10107
