    Abstract: 研究期間:10301~10312;The previous project has setup CWB/GFS under current framework with NCEP EnKF system completely installed and tested with new NCEP GSI. Together with EnKF ensemble members, the time-lagged average forecasting method is promising to provide helpful ensemble members for generating better flow-dependent background co-variance, which gives significantly improved results compared to 3DVAR in terms of analysis and forecast of model layer variables. The main goals of the project in this year aim at further tests on the installed GSI-Hybrid system for optimization among involved sensitive mechanisms and parameters in order to produce a more reasonable spreading of the ensemble members for improving forecasts. This optimized GSI-Hybrid DA system will be oriented essentially for operational application. This project would also enhance the capability of radio occultation data usage to enrich the benefits of FORMOSAT-3 follow-on project on NWP.
