Abstract:	西北太平洋是全球最多颱風的區域。不僅台灣，整個東亞地區長年都受到颱風的嚴重威脅。因此，有關颱風強度變化和活動一直是國際上重要的科學議題。通過了解海洋對颱風的響應和回饋作用，可以增進我們對颱風的預測能力，降低颱風的威脅。東亞沿海的大陸棚淺水區是颱風在登陸時的必經之路。然而，過去幾乎沒有颱風研究就此特殊海域進行深入的探討。因此，作為此議題的研究先驅，本計畫研究成果將會彌補我們對這方面的研究空白。更重要的是可以增加我們對颱風登陸時強度變化過程的掌握，對國際上颱風研究有深遠的意義。
