Taoyuan City is a metropolitan area filled with diverse ethnic groups and deep Hakka cultural atmosphere. Football is the sport with the most participants worldwide. Facing the prevailing football trend, it is hoped that the Hakka community can also participate in this grand football event, which is the motivation for this study. This study has three main objectives: 1. To understand the motivations and processes of Hakka football players participating in football events. 2. To explore the role of family education in the participation of Hakka football players in football events during their growth process and whether the Hakka perseverance spirit has a significant impact on their development. 3. To compare whether there is a difference in support for participating in football between the Hakka community and non-Hakka communities. Through literature review and semi-structured interviews with Hakka football players in Taoyuan, supplemented by data from Hakka football players in other counties, this study aims to outline the spatial and temporal background of Hakka football players engaging in football. It compares the changes in educational concepts across generations, the relevance of the perseverance spirit to football and work life, and the levels of support for football participation between different ethnic groups. The study results indicate that the Hakka community places more emphasis on academic requirements than the non-Hakka community. The non-Hakka community shows higher support for football participation compared to the Hakka community. There is a noticeable change in parenting attitudes among different generations of the Hakka community. The perseverance spirit has positive benefits for participating in football and work life. For the Hakka community, the perseverance spirit is a significant characteristic symbolizing and representing their identity."
