Contamination issues in a developed municipality significantly impact public health, including the effects of industrial wastewater on specific water sources, the necessity of using compromised quality water for farming due to scarcity, and the escalating risk of soil contamination over time. The objective of this research is to provide an insightful overview of the patterns of heavy metal contamination in the irrigated soil of the Taoyuan City farmland region. This study collected data on regulated agricultural land pollution in Taoyuan City from 2004 to 2022, comprising 1,555 records that detail soil conditions, types of heavy metal contamination (such as Cu, Zn, and Cd), and the increments of heavy metal pollution in essential irrigation ponds. Using 17 input variables, the SOMCM model yields clusters for the targeted irrigation zones by identifying contamination trends. The findings identify specific lands that exhibit similar water quality and soil concentration characteristics while effectively assessing soil heavy metal contamination in the three monitored irrigation canals and two districts.
