    Abstract: The anticipated impact/benefit of this proposed work includes: (i) Improve our understanding of how global warming impacts extreme events, including extreme precipitation, temperature, drought, flood, and bushfires, as well as how these extremes affect the climate. This step will provide fundamental insights into climate change dynamics and climate predictability. (ii) The research outcomes of this project can bring about significant benefits to communities by addressing public issues related to extreme events management. These benefits extend to agriculture, public health, and beyond, helping policymakers make informed decisions to improve economic, environmental, and social conditions for both Taiwanese and international communities. (iii) With the potential for domestic and international collaborations, this project aims to foster a sense of global community, connecting experts in Taiwan and worldwide in a shared mission to understand and mitigate the impacts of climate changes and extremes. This project will also support graduate students by recruiting both local and international students and young researchers, ensuring an inclusive and diverse community.
