This two-year project that contains a series of analyses regrading export superstars in China. Two main research issues are: “Trade liberalization, subsidy, and the emergence of export superstars”, and “Innovation, export heterogeneity and the persistence of export superstars”. Export superstar is an emerging research issue in the literature of international economics, empirical studies are scarce. This project has academic novelties to this stream of literature. Moreover, analyses drawn this project can provide practical implication for Taiwan-invested firms in China, and exporters in Taiwan. It also provides implications of export measures for Taiwan which is a country relies on export-led growth, particularly the electronics sector.
