;This study examines the development and commercialization of T Company’s tactile safety skin technology for robotic applications and explores its strategic approach to maintaining competitive advantage. Amid the global rise of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing, the demand for safe and responsive human-robot collaboration has grown significantly, making tactile sensing a crucial element in advanced automation systems. Since its founding in 2009, T Company has focused on developing robotic tactile sensing technologies, following a three-phase trajectory: technology concept development (2009–2017), product commercialization and market validation (2017–2021), and international market expansion (2021 to present). In 2017, the company successfully launched its first commercial product and established partnerships with major international robot manufacturers. It achieved certification for collaborative robot safety standards in 2021 and officially entered the European market in 2023, signaling the global recognition of its technology. To further enhance its competitiveness, this study proposes four strategic initiatives: strengthening patent portfolios and accelerating technological innovation; focusing on high-potential vertical markets such as electronics and metal processing; deepening technical collaboration with robot OEMs to improve system compatibility; and leveraging intangible asset financing to address capital needs during early commercialization phases. As a key component in enabling safe physical interaction between humans and machines, tactile safety skin holds substantial market potential and technological complexity. It not only meets the rising safety standards of collaborative robotics but also presents a clear value proposition across diverse industrial applications. T Company is encouraged to continue investing in research and development, expanding global market presence, and advancing system-level integration to reinforce its leadership in robotic safety technology.
