摘要(中) 無線網路依照封包傳送所經過的hop距離,可分成兩種型式:single-hop 無線網路和multi-hop無線網路。single-hop無線網路通常需要固定的基礎架構,但是在某些情況下是不可行的,譬如說在戰場或災難(地震、洪水、火災)現場,其通訊基礎架構可能不存在或是被破壞掉了,像這一類型的應用, 我們需要multi-hop無線網路。multi-hop無線網路又稱為無基礎架構(Ad Hoc)無線網路,它包含一些移動式主機,彼此之間透過無線鏈路通訊,而不需透過任何其他通訊設備(例如基地台)。
IEEE802.11是目前普遍使用的無線區域網路標準,提供了MAC(Media Access Control)層與實體層的通訊協定,可用於有基礎架構的無線區域網路與無基礎架構的無線區域網路。在IEEE802.11 multi-hop無線區域網路中,隨著hop distance的增加,封包經過無線通道的時間就愈久,誤碼的機率也就愈高,另一方面因為各個封包對無線通道的競爭,因而造成封包遺失的機率升高,使得TCP與MAC層重傳次數增多並互相競爭。當MAC層重傳時間太久,會讓TCP發送端逾時,使得TCP端點對端點效能降低。
本論文提出重傳協調演算法(Retransmission Coordination Algorithm,簡稱RCA) 可以使TCP與MAC層(以及TCP Proxy)協調地運作,以避免競爭性重傳,及避免TCP不必要的逾時重傳,因而改善TCP在無基礎架構無線網路上的效能。關鍵字(中) ★ 傳送控制協定
