Abstract:	本計畫目的為推動數學學門各項業務的順利執行，持續推展國內應用數學研究和相關的學術活動，並關注國際數學研究發展趨勢，以利學門未來規劃重點研究方向。科技部自然司目前包含十餘個不同學門，並由相關專家學者擔任學門召集人，由學門召集人協助組成審諮議委員會，負責各項相關業務的推動與執行。數學學門目前大致上可以區分為純數組與應數組，兩組各設置召集人一人，統籌負責相關審查業務，但兩組維持一致的審核標準與評比原則。兩位學門共同召集人的主要任務為： (1). 協助研訂數學學門的發展計畫：數學領域目前以代數、數論、幾何與拓樸學、分析、微分方程、機率理論與應用、離散數學與組合學、數值分析與科學計算、及跨領域數學科學等九個次領域為學門重點研究發展方向。 (2). 推動與聯繫數學學門規劃所擬定之各項業務。 (3). 協助落實數學學門重點研究之推動。 (4). 關注數學學門的國際發展趨勢，探討國內外研究環境、研究人力及研究方向之差異，作為未來進一步規劃之依據。 (5). 藉由學術研討會及成果發表會之舉辦，達到學術交流及拓展前沿研究領域的目標。 (6). 協助促進數學學門各次領域加入國際性學術組織。 (7). 提昇數學在國內科學研究中所扮演的角色，推動與其它學門領域之間的研究合作。規劃的具體工作項目如下： (1). 專題研究計畫申請案及吳大猷獎之學術審查。 (2). 協助科技部審查與數學學門有關的各項申請案。 (3). 推動數學重點研究專案計畫並協助其審查。 (4). 審查海外學人來華演講與短期科學技術指導、延攬研究人才及出席國際會議等申請案。 (5). 出席學門召集人會議，協助科技部相關業務之推展。 (6). 其他相關業務之規劃與推動，並視需要舉辦各類相關說明會。 ;The main objective of this proposal is to support the PI to develop and promote the applied mathematics research and related activities in Taiwan. The specific work items include: (1). In charge of reviewing all submitted research proposals and other related applications; (2). Introducing and promoting the cutting-edge frontier research directions to the mathematical community; (3). Identifying some top-down main theme proposals to the community; (4). Assisting other MOST reviewing activities; (5). Promoting the interdisciplinary collaborations between mathematics and other science communities.
