dc.description.abstract | LED (Light Emitting Diode, LED) is an electron element of a semiconductor. Use the current drive LED, it can convert electrical energy into light output form, in 1907 by American scientists invented by Henry. The high-growth generation of LED started from 1996 when blue LED with phosphor developed into white LED, researched from the Nichia Corporation in Japan. With the increase of the luminous efficiency (lm / W) and low power consumption characteristics, LED has gradually replaced those low efficiency and high energy consumption products, such as incandescent lamps and cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL). In 2002, LED has been applied in small-sized cell-phones, and more currently in the larger-sized display, the NB screen and backlight of TV. With the financial tsunami in 2009, most industries were still stuck in the downturned economy but LED application on backlight of the panel enabled it to have a rapid recovery.
Recently, with the rapid expansion of the LED Industry, manufacturers have invested amounts of capital to increase production capacity and upgrade techniques, resulting in product prices dropping significantly. However, the next illumination market for LED will take over the current backlight market of panels soon. Therefore, it will make an interesting study topic for the company which owns the LED production technique so as to gain the competitive advantage in such a fierce competitive environment.
This study analyzes the competitive advantage of the light-emitting element based on the only one done by the vertically integrated LED Company in Taiwan. The study uses “demand characteristics analysis” questionnaire to explore the company case in order to find ways to strengthen the competitive advantage and explore new business opportunities for the research company. | en_US |
