dc.description.abstract | Xiong Shili, Liang Shuming, Feng Youlan and Tang Junyi are four Contemporary Neo Confucians in the early years of the Republic of China. They all have the thoughts of Confucian family view, including the concerns about traditional five Lun, ancient women′s rights and other issues. This book is intended to show the characteristics of Four Contemporary Neo Confucianists′ family views, such as the family view spread from small families to the whole world, the family view presented from the perspective of East-West Comparison, the family view based on family or society in the modern and ancient times, the family view integrated with love studies and the family view of upward reasoning, etc. At the beginning of the Republic of China, the Contemporary Neo Confucians were in the era of the impact of western thoughts. Xiong, Liang, Feng and Tang all put forward their views on the differences between Chinese and Western family views. While maintaining the traditional Chinese family sentiment, moral values and ethics, the Contemporary Neo Confucians also try to promote the Confucian family view corresponding to the contemporary values from the time-varying perspective, such as Xiong Shili′s theory of the equality of children′s obedience to their parents′ bereavement, Liang Shuming′s criticism of the exploitation of women′s rights in ancient society, Feng Youlan′s practical action to support mother, sister and wife′s education of women Tang Junyi′s practice of seeking moral time and the spiritual growth of husband and wife in the love that the former people avoided talking about, these new theories of Contemporary Neo Confucianism not only continue the research of traditional Confucian family view, but also give it a new meaning in the contemporary era, which can continue to be used in today′s society, and solve the difficulties encountered in our spiritual and life. This paper aims at the similarities and differences of the four subjects′ family views, and makes a systematic collation and compare. | en_US |
