| dc.description.abstract | Facing the fierce wave of Industry 4.0’s technology trends, companies of Taiwan traditional manufacturing industry have replaced large batch production with high-value-added customized manufacturing. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the competitiveness of manufacturing technology and create a better niche point. During the development of Industry 4.0, a great number of procedures, including information technology, integrated manufacturing, sales and after-sales services, are used to increase the traditional manufacturing industry’s technology competitiveness. However, since traditional manufacturing industry hasn’t been focusing on the integration capability of information system for such a long time, the professional skills of IT technicians working in these companies will undoubtedly be challenged.
By using the exploratory research methods, such as literature review and case study, this study explores how the IT department of S Company, facing the technology upgrade of Industry 4.0, evaluates and selects the most suitable new information technology platform when the S Company strives to achieve the goals of Industry 4.0, and how they replaced old information equipment and system afterwards. During the exploration, the study discovered that S Company abolished the old management system to make IT department achieve the objectives of Industry 4.0. The IT technicians are all regrouped according to their competency, and the OKR is integrated into the implementation project of Nutanix Hyper-converged infrastructure. For this reason, the entire IT department’s scores of evaluations in 2019 had positively increased, giving S Company faith to trust the IT department in leading the Industry 4.0 upgrade project.
