dc.description.abstract | Publishing research papers is the foundation for advancing and sharing scientific knowledge. Before it is published, a research paper requires peer review to ensuring its quality. To perform peer review, it is necessary to provide the content of the paper to the anonymous reviewers for review, which highly exposes the paper to the risk of plagiarism due to the unknown identity of reviewers. Besides, when conducting the review service, reviewers might take a passive attitude due to insufficient incentive, resulting in a delay or poor quality of the review report. To address these issues, this research applies the concepts of block-chain and smart contract to design and implement an online collaborative peer view system. Specifically, with the features of persistency of blockchain, every information related to reviewing is stored and unchangeable; in addition, high transparency of transactions in smart contracts provide the ability to trace back every user who had read the paper, this research develops an online system with mentioned features to facilitate the collaborative review of the research paper. The system is designed to protect peer review from plagiarism with the smart contract and make the review process clearer. Furthermore, the system innovatively allows peers to review on the review of a paper, to help ensure the quality of both the paper and its collaborative review. | en_US |
