dc.description.abstract | On August 15, 1945, Japan was defeated and announced its unconditional surrender. The arduous War of Resistance Against Japan finally ushered in its final victory; on October 25, Taiwan returned to Chinese rule. Later, as the struggle between the KMT and CCP expanded, in order to prevent Taiwan from becoming a force supporting the government in the civil war, the Central Committee of the CCP decided to appoint Taiwanese cadre Tsai Xiaoqian to return to Taiwan and be responsible for establishing and leading the "Taiwan Provincial Working Committee", to provide internal support for the PLA to cross the sea and attack Taiwan in the future; the organization was formally established in Taipei City in June 1946. After three years of latent development, the organization has spread across the northern, central and southern regions, and the number of CCP members has reached more than a thousand, Through propaganda and organizing mass struggles, it already has a considerable degree of influence in Taiwan; however, as the organization was exposed and suffered a series of attacks and sabotage by intelligence units, Many middle- and senior-level cadres, including Tsai Xiaoqian, were arrested one after another, or Death or surrender, this all-powerful underground organization also collapsed in Miaoli at the end of April 1952.
How was the Taiwan Provincial Working Committee, an organization affiliated with the CCP, established and developed in Taiwan, How did the leader of the organization, Tsai Xiaoqian, a Taiwanese who was born under Japanese colonial rule, get in touch with the CCP, What is his life experience. After returning to Taiwan, what principles did Tsai Xiaoqian follow to develop the organization, What is the process of the entire organization from establishment and development, to peak, to destruction, and finally to disintegration. Faced with the changing situation in the "liberation of Taiwan" and when their personal life and death are in danger, how will the arrested leading cadres make choices, What impact will their choices have on the fate of the entire organization and the growth and decline of the CCP′s power in Taiwan, What kind of ideological and psychological contradictions did the leading cadres who chose to surrender to the government have, How do such contradictions affect their words and deeds. What is their final outcome. These are the issues that this study seeks to explore. | en_US |
