| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | With the continuous progress of the Internet and technology, many new forms of communication have emerged and become increasingly mainstream and important, such as digital media. According to self-determination theory, providing users with more autonomy can enhance their engagement and positivity towards activities. However, existing digital media platforms only offer users limited options for interface visual elements selection and do not provide the right or functionality to freely adjust more interface visual element attributes.
This study aims to explore the impact on user satisfaction when adding functionality for users to adjust interface visual element attributes (e.g., font size, background color, etc.) in digital media platforms, as well as which individual functionalities within the visual element adjustment functionality are preferred by users and more correlated with overall satisfaction. The study simulates the use of a digital media platform, specifically a news website, and designs and implements a functionality that allows users to adjust interface visual elements. Users are then asked to experience both the original website and the website with the interface visual element adjustment functionality, and fill out the Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction(QUIS) to evaluate their satisfaction with the two websites. Finally, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to examine the difference in user satisfaction between the two websites, and the Spearman rank correlation coefficient was calculated to determine the correlation between satisfaction with each visual element adjustment functionality and overall satisfaction.
The website was deployed on the internet. Online testing and questionnaire surveys were conducted. A total of 169 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed. The results show that users have higher satisfaction with the website that provides the interface visual element adjustment functionality. Additionally, the font size control functionality, hiding other elements control functionality, and font style control functionality are more popular and have a higher impact on overall satisfaction. This study designed a prototype of an interface visual element adjustment functionality and established its positive impact on user satisfaction, providing practical application recommendations and references for related research in the field. | en_US |
