dc.description.abstract | For the past decade, Cold-mix recycled asphalt concrete technology has been studied and utilized in subbase and base layers of Taiwan pavement. As expected, the Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) of Cold-mix recycled asphalt concrete will be produced, and how to recycle the RAP of Cold-mix recycled asphalt concrete is another crucial issue for Taiwan. The cement is adopted by cold-mix recycled foam asphalt concrete and cold-mix recycled emulsion asphalt concrete. Compared with the traditional RAP, the RAP of cold-mix recycled asphalt concrete contains more cement hydration material, and whether the above material would influence the performance is always a concern by pavement engineers and scholars. The study was developed on the above background. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the feasibility of Cold Mix Emulsion Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (CE_RAP) and Cold Mix Foam Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (CF_RAP) into Hot mix recycled asphalt concrete and Cold-mix recycled asphalt concrete. The hot-mix recycled asphalt mixture design followed the Asphalt Institute MS-2, and the cold-mix recycled asphalt mixture design followed the National Land Management Agency, Taiwan Specifications. The indirect tensile strength, tensile remain ratio, and moisture sensitivity were adopted to evaluate the performance of Cold-mix recycled asphalt concrete and hot-mix recycled asphalt concrete with various RAP, CE_RAP, and CF_RAP additions. In addition, one way Variance of Analysis (ANOVA) was adopted to check the difference between different materials. Although the indirect tensile strength, tensile remain ratio, and moisture sensitivity of asphalt mixture would decrease via the addition of CE_RAP and CF_RAP additions increase, the above disadvantage could be improved with cement and asphalt content. Based on the results, CE_RAP and CF_RAP could be reused in hot-mix recycled asphalt concrete and cold-mix recycled asphalt concrete. It would be worthy of further study. | en_US |
