In this study, we focused on the Fire Department Vehicle Maintenance Center of a local government in Taiwan. Accounting for existing conditions and limitations, we used integer programming to construct a mathematical model, using Lingo 17.0 in conjunction with Microsoft Excel to calculate and export the optimal schedule. Compared to traditional manual scheduling, this method substantially shortens scheduling time, reduces the disparity of duty hours among different departments, and increases fairness. Furthermore, by adjusting relevant key parameters, we performed a sensitivity analysis to identify the most influential factors affecting duty scheduling periods to target key indicators. This analysis aims to enhance fairness, equality, as well as efficiency, and provides decision-makers with considerations to evaluate adequate manpower of different III departments in the future.en_US
