dc.description.abstract | In modern society, cashless payment is ubiquitous, from traditional methods of currency exchange to the widespread adoption of electronic and mobile payments. Cashless payment has become an integral part of everyday life. It significantly increases payment efficiency, reduces the time needed for traditional cash transactions, and is convenient and quick. It enhances transaction security, preventing risks like forgery and theft, and protects consumer rights. It also promotes economic development by reducing black market transactions and provides more data for economic analysis and policy-making.
Cashless payment has become an essential part of smart city construction and will continue to thrive in the future. It not only enhances the quality of life but also contributes to the sustainable development of cities. The rise of blockchain technology will further enhance payment security and transparency; artificial intelligence will improve risk management and anti-fraud capabilities; the ubiquity of the Internet will make payment systems more intelligent and automated. The integration of these technologies will bring more innovative opportunities and advancements to cashless payments, helping to increase the efficiency and reliability of payment systems. Cashless payment includes six tools: mobile payments, electronic payments, third-party payments, credit cards, debit cards, and electronic tickets.
This thesis, through a global analysis of cashless payment cases, discusses the role of cashless payments in smart cities, development trends, and related impacts on urban efficiency and economic development. It illustrates the evolution of cashless payments from traditional payment methods to their current state and explores the driving factors behind the rise of cashless payments, including technological innovation, changes in consumer behavior, and government policy initiatives. It also assesses the advantages of cashless payments in increasing transaction efficiency, reducing transaction costs, and enhancing payment security, and discusses the challenges it faces, such as information security and widespread adoption issues, and how to ensure that all people can easily use these payment methods. Additionally, through a literature review, it analyzes the application of cashless payments in smart cities and their contributions to the smartification, efficiency, convenience, and sustainability of city management and public services, thereby evaluating the actual impact of cashless payments on the operational efficiency of smart cities.
In the future, as technology continues to advance and policies support, cashless payments will continue to play a key role in the construction of smart cities, pushing cities towards a smarter, more sustainable direction. It also calls for governments to pay more attention to the popularity, security, and privacy protection of cashless payments to ensure that all people can truly enjoy the convenience and benefits of cashless payments, thereby achieving a smarter, more sustainable smart city life. | en_US |
