dc.description.abstract | In the eight years since Taoyuan City was upgraded to a municipality directly under the Central Government, it has been committed to the development of various public constructions. By the end of 2024, the total length of sidewalks under construction has reached 1.12 million meters, and the penetration rate has increased from 26.51% to 54.76%; however, statistics as of December 2020. However, Taoyuan City has the highest number of deaths due to traffic accidents in the country. The above can highlight that although Taoyuan City strives to build sidewalks, there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of pedestrian environment improvement policies and actual actions, so as to completely improve the overall use. Passers-by are safe.
This study will use literature collection and case evaluation methods to summarize various pedestrian environment improvement projects in Taoyuan City subsidized by the central government (Bureau of Land Management of the Ministry of the Interior and Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport) in recent years, such as "Road Quality Improvement Project 2.0", "Campus Surroundings and Driving Safety Road Improvement Project" and "Sustainable Improvement of Pedestrian Safety Plan", etc..., especially the issues of the traffic environment around the campus are discussed, with "Guishan Junior High School Multi-Objective Improvement Project" and "Shoushan High School and We conducted a case study on the "Guishan Elementary School General School Trail Pick-up Area Improvement Project" and used a questionnaire to survey and analyze people′s feelings about Taoyuan City′s pedestrian environment. The results showed that less than 30% of the people believed that the improvement of Taoyuan City′s human environment met expectations, showing There is still a lot of room for improvement in Taoyuan’s humanistic environment.
In order to solve the pedestrian environment problems in Taoyuan City, this study introduces the 6 action plans for project improvement in the "Pedestrian Priority Traffic Safety Action Plan", sets performance indicators, and recommends them to be included in the checklist for future proposals to central agencies, and reviews the "Pedestrian Priority Traffic Safety Action Plan in Taoyuan City" Design and Construction Principles Manual" to establish a mechanism for Taoyuan City to continuously improve pedestrian safety and achieve the goal of zero obstruction to pedestrians. | en_US |
