dc.description.abstract | Possessing a robust logistics support is the key to develop Global Logistics and E-Commerce. In today’s global distribution and tremendously competitive environment, we need one single provider who is able to plan the whole logistics operation based on total optimization and to formulate a multi-mode transportation solution. E-Logistics Service Provider (E-LSP) is considered as one effective provider who can meet those requirements. E-LSP must integrate the operations between its partners and therefore a strong information system matters. However developing a successful information system is not easy due to the complex business process. Noticing this obstacle, this research attempts to develop a Business Process-Oriented Methodology for Designing the Information System of E-LSP (E-LSP_BPIS), which may greatly reduce the time and the cost of developing an information system.
This research presents the methodology structuring process into the following steps. First, this research establishes E-LSP ontology to identify the relationships between entities in E-LSP, which helps us clarify ambiguity of words and classify them in order to improve the sharing and the reuse of knowledge. Then, this research does a strategic planning, which assists the researcher in designing a network of logistics and selecting appropriate partners as the basis of constructing business processes of E-LSP later. Next, this research utilizes Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to draw out three requirements of the information system from the requirements of customers in a hierarchy: the function requirements, the actor requirements, and the data requirements. Finally, this research organizes these three requirements into the complete business processes of E-LSP and then presents them by Unified Modeling Language (UML) as the foundation of connecting system design. Our proposed methodology expects to achieve the following advantages: (1) Improving the match of E-Logistic information system with customers’ requirements. (2) Presenting the whole business processes of E-LSP which is used as a blueprint for developing an E-Logistics information system. | zh_TW |
