Fiction between China and Korea has two-thousand-year exchange history. However, its comparative research has been focused on mostly consideration of their mutual influential relations. Particularly, one-side view of the influence of Chinese fiction on Korean one has been dominant. The trend & result of comparative research on love stories created by China and Korea has shown the same aspect as above. The love stories of China and Korea has exercised their influence for quite a long history also on literary history of both countries. Particularly, scholar-beauty novels in early period of Ching of China and Korea’s love stories written in Chinese in the early 17th century have played an absolute role in both countries’ literary history. However, its appraisal from academic society has been understated and not until the 1980s in the 20th century was its research activity in the gradual swing. The scholar-beauty novels in early period of Ching of China and love stories written in Chinese in Korea has a lot in common, so they have sufficiently equipped the value as comparative literature. First of all, the most important thing as the value of comparative literature is that both countries’ novels are all love stories. Secondly, all of the both countries’ novels were mass-produced and in fashion after the war in the 17th century. Third, both countries’ novels were created by literary persons under the social system of Confucian tradition. Like this, though both countries’ novels have a lot in common, they are the products created under the background of both countries’ cultural tradition. Therefore, this researcher, in this research paper, aims at considering characteristics in literature’s basic nature , such as epical form & significance, and aesthetic aspects displayed by both countries by comparing and analyzing the scholar-beauty novels that were mass-produced and in fashion in early period of Ching of China after going through the war, or in the 17th century-like history, society, and environment and in the 17th century, Korean love stories on the basis of parallel study method. | en_US |
