dc.description.abstract | Previously, domestic statistical data on children’s accidents and harm from the
use of playground equipment are lacking. Compared to foreign research, domestic
studies on children playground safety are limited. However, with the increase of
living level and economic income among the general population, the amount of
children playground equipment has become popular and common, causing a higher
chance in accidental harms as a result. Thus, the present study goal is to establish
an inspection body accreditation mechanism in order to control the quality of
children playground equipments. The children playground equipment accreditation
mechanism system constructed by the study will assist the Ministry of Interior,
Children’s Bureau to establish such a mechanism and suggested to apply an
international standard ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation management system.
Justification from a third party accreditation will ascertain that the children
playground equipment accreditation mechanism system will be implemented
accordingly. In order to construct accreditation and to formulate an operational
standard, the present study will thoroughly research related regulations and
operational conditions already in process within advanced nations. From the data
obtained, analyses will be made to understand how other countries manage
playground equipment, weaknesses and strengths of inspection, and accordingly
adapt to Taiwan’s current condition and construct a domestic implement
proposition such as the requests of inspection bodies, implemented targets,
supervising institutions, related regulations, etc. Through the investigation of the
present study and interviews forums with professionals, we hope to construct a
domestic accreditation criterion for the “Children playground equipment inspection
body accreditation mechanism: An operational protocol,” which will make
suggestions and arguments in accordance to the implementation. | en_US |
