dc.description.abstractThis paper gives a logistics solution for the global IC industry. In it, a hybrid solution model is proposed. In the viewpoint of semiconductors manufacturing logistics, because of complex product-mix, the planning issues in terms of demand planning, production planning, capacity planning as well as material planning are quite complex and are hard to be considered in an integrated manner. Based on the APS decision framework and middle term business operation planning, the proposed decision model contains two phase: the inbound wafer fabrication phase and final assembly phase. These two decision phases execute dependently and a heuristic method is designed to accommodate the capacity gap between these two phases. Finally, simulation models will test the practicability of the logistics plan and give some suggestion about the operation of a global semiconductors company. The hybrid solution model is suitable for a global semiconductors company which has already implemented the ERP system as their planning platform.en_US
