| dc.description.abstract | 本論文的目的在探討天堂之主題在艾蜜莉‧笛金笙詩中的內涵。首先，在第一章我們將會回顧各學者關於該主題的不同看法。然後，我們會再為笛金笙的天堂觀下一個定義。之後再透過佛教思想以及她和金庸武俠小說中的一位女子—小龍女—之間的關聯性進一步去檢視她的天堂觀發展的三個階段。在接下來的章節中，我們將會探討笛金笙第二階段天堂觀的各個面相。第二章，我們聚焦在心性；第三章，我們則關注個人性；第四章，我們處理藝術創作。最後一章則為結論。

| dc.description.abstract | The goal of my thesis is to investigate the significance of the topic, heaven, in Emily Dickinson’s poems. In the first chapter, to begin with, we will have a literature review to see scholars’ concept of Dickinson’s heaven. Then, we will give a definition of Dickinson’s heaven and scrutinize the three stages of the development of her heaven with the help of some basic Buddhist concepts and the correlation between Dickinson and Xiao Long Nü, a female character in the martial arts novel Shen Diao Xia Lü by Jin Yong. In the following chapters, we will concentrate on different aspects of the second stage of Dickinson’s heaven. In the second chapter, we will focus on mind. In the third chapter, we will pay attention to individuality. In the fourth chapter, we will deal with artistic creation. The last chapter is the conclusion.
