| dc.description.abstract | In 21st century, the era of globalization, aerotropolis is the trend of the main airports development in the world. Airports have always been seen as symbols of national competitiveness, and closely linked with countries’’ overall economic development. Therefore, many countries are pouring their energies into aerotropolis projects and expecting to build the aerotropolis with competitive advantage. Taoyuan International Airport is the most important gateway of Taiwan to the world. It has an
excellent geographical location, and is situated at the “hot core” of global trading and logistics. For external development, it can offer advantages and chances to make
Taiwan become the regional transshipment center. For internal development, it can drive domestic industrial development and economic growth. Taiwan government has
set the ＂Taoyuan Aerotropolis development Plan＂ as the flagship project among the ＂i-Taiwan 12 Projects＂. Except for Legislating the ＂Statute for the Development of
International Airport Park＂, central government and local government are planning to develop the Taoyuan Airport and its surroundings actively, too.
First, this research analyzes the development trajectory of the global aerotropolis and relevant free trade zone, and refers the aerotropolis and free trade zone with
collection and discussion on reference sub-data, combining the expert interviews, summarizing the development models and factors of an aerotropolis. Then using SWOT analysis to find out the competitive strategy. Finally via Analysis Network Process, we can calculate the weight of key factors to conclude the most important factors of success and the priority of development strategies, and present strategic suggestions to realize the development of Taoyuan Aerotropolis.
